Position Overview

We are looking for a Substation Automation Engineer to support our clients in commissioning of Control and Relay Panels and substation Energy Monitoring/Management systems.

The Automation Engineer shall provide services related to commissioning of Substation Automation System for reputed companies like Siemens / ABB / Schneider.

For example if deputed on Siemens projects – Server Based (SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC), RTU( Tool Box, TM1703, AK1703, AK3, FRTU) based HMI System( Simatic WinCC, SICAM 230), Supervision of installation for pre-requisites of commissioning at Siemens project sites across the Northern India.


•  Testing commissioning of substation automation systems
• Interface with customers, including trouble shooting and commissioning support
• The candidate will be required to travel to project sites

Required Applied knowledge and Experience

• Communication Network Technologies, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Hands on experience on the Communication protocols such as IEC61850, 104, 103, 101, OPC and Modbus
• Hands on experience on the substation automation products i.e. AK 17 & AK 3 RTU, SICAM PAS, WIN CC and associated software packages of ALSTOM/ABB

Desired skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience in the power industry, including applied knowledge of electrical engineering, schematics, one and three lines
• Adept with Microsoft Office Applications
• Applied knowledge of transmission and distribution numerical relay and protection.

Minimum Qualifications

▪ BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
▪ Min 1 year relevant experience in the testing and commissioning of Substation Automation Systems
Lesser experience (3 months to 6 months) would be placed as trainee Engineers

Optional Skills

• Knowledge of ANSI standards, IEC standards.
• High Voltage, Distribution and Generation applications experience, working for Utility and Industrial customer
• Computer technologies knowledge

Second set of rounds:
Screening tests followed by Personal Interview by Client / Reporting Manager

Third set of rounds:
Final reviews
